Johnny Kaw’s Westport: The ReBrand

By August 6, 2019 No Comments

There are some changes on the horizon for our beloved Friday night spot, Johnny Kaws. If you have visited the original spot in Westport recently, you have undoubtedly noticed the changes over the past few months. The biggest change is still to be made, however.

Johnny Kaws will soon be changing its name to Bridgers. This name was chosen to pay homage to one of Westport’s pioneers, Jim Bridger, who had multiple businesses in the area dating back to the 1840s. One of which being a tavern – according to historian Jim Beckner.

With the change in name, comes a change in atmosphere. The feel of Bridgers will be more “club-like” in the predominantly “pub-like” district. Providing its patrons with 10 sections for bottle service and music to dance to. The idea behind this rebranding process is to stand out and switch things up.

Since the very first meeting, UpDown and Johnny Kaws have worked together to fortify a bond and develop the environment that frequenters now enjoy. This partnership continues to bring new and exciting things to the forefront of the nightlife scene. The willingness to adapt and change with the times proves that Bridgers will become a staple in the Westport District.

Friday nights will continue to be the Elite Night for this venue as #ForwardOnFridays will remain. Please join us for the official kickoff event for Bridgers under their new name on Friday, August 16th!
