This is understandable because there have been numerous studies on music and the impact it can have on a person’s mood and/or emotions. The right song can evoke feelings of joy, sadness, anger, etc. It can also cause a person to become more relaxed or hyped up. That is why it is so important to have a good, experienced DJ at events that can effectively read the crowd. They quite literally set the mood for the evening.
That isn’t to say the other options from our poll are not important as well. Location, for example, can be a pivotal part of your decision making when you factor in comfortability and safety. Ensuring that the patrons of the establishment feel safe and secure goes hand in hand with building a positive atmosphere that will bring people back. It is more than just a nice patio or fancy aesthetics.
While the numbers in our poll didn’t reflect it, drink specials are another key piece to nightlife – especially for younger crowds hitting the scene for the first time. Affordability is important, particularly with Millennials. This generation might make more than those before them but the cost of living is consistently increasing at a faster rate, making it hard to maintain a social life without sacrificing other things.
