Joy Byrd is the designer/founder of Beach Hours. Originally from Atlanta, the 26-year-old African American woman grew up in Kansas City. Through travel, she became motivated to pursue this passion and develop the brand into what it has become.
UpDown was excited to catch up with Joy to discuss a partnership and develop an event that will empower women and highlight not only their beauty but celebrate how much they can accomplish when working together.
Introducing – “Confidential”. Rooted from an idea we have always wanted to do, the meaning and purpose of this female only event is to uplift women through a swimwear show featuring Beach Hours while also giving back to a non profit organization.
Crown Me Foundation is an organization that focuses on the need for women to heal through their own reflection. Founder Tanika Evans works passionately with women to provide counseling and creative ways to uplift them within the community.
A portion of the proceeds from “Confidential” will be donated to The Crown Me Foundation. The details of this event will be sent out Friday June 21 to all women and women ONLY!
