Martini Corner Gets Set For Revamp

By February 17, 2020 One Comment

The nightlife industry can often become stagnant or mundane when bars/clubs are unable to keep up with the ever-changing wants and needs of partygoers. It is the mission of UpDown Nightlife to keep our followers up to date on the exciting changes being made in the industry and provide information on the best possible venues and events throughout the Kansas City area.

Plans have been revealed to revamp Kansas City’s beloved Martini Corner. Construction for this $3 million revitalization is said to begin before the end of the year with a target completion date by late summer of 2021. This will affect the properties on the north side of 31st street between Gillham Rd. and Oak. (Sol Cantina, Ollie’s and our beloved Thursday night spot BrickHouse)

While the plan is to keep all the current tenants, there will be number of changes made to the area. An elevated patio is planned to connect the businesses and retail space will be added to give the area more to offer to consumers. Additionally, this opportunity will likely bring in new businesses that will also contribute to the drive of new patrons in the current establishments. Tyler Humar, BrickHouse tenant, is excited about the changes and believes the refresh will be great for business.

We would have to agree with Tyler. Martini Corner is a staple in the Kansas City nightlife industry, but its rejuvenation has been a long time coming. It is vital for these entertainment districts to modernize periodically if they want to continue to attract new waves of consumers and stimulate more interest from current customers. Honestly, we couldn’t be more eager to have a new patio space overlooking the city because if there’s one thing we’ve learned from our experience, it’s that KC loves a good day party!
